What does this mean:
- No gripping or venting about other people
- Turn conversations away from belittling others
- Speak only words of support and encouragement
- Dont question other peoples choices or decisions...only support them
- Speak compliments
- Dont complain about other people
- Etc.
Even though physical actions of service bring relief and help one of the greatest ways to support other people is simply but only shedding good light on them. Our words frame how other people see the individuals we are speaking of. We can vent about someone we love, who is an amazing person, and only allow the person we vent to see that person we are speaking of in a bad light. Our words of questioning, suggestions, etc will allow our friend or loved on to think we dont believe in them. Our words of anger will cause others to question how we feel about them.
Where as if we speak kindly, patiently, out of love or bite our tongue when really only bad comes to mind then we can support and love others.
Often times the simple words of encouragement and support and saying "I love you" "I admire you" "I believe in you" etc will make the world of difference in ones life.
This will be a real challenge for me. Feel free to comment on your progress this week on this challenge.
